About Arunima
Arunima hospice is a centre for holistic care for people living with HIV/AIDS.
At the hospice they offer treatment, counselling, mainstreaming and sensitization support to the infected and to the affected.
It is a faith based, non profit organization under Calcutta Diocesan Trust Association (private), Diocese of Calcutta, Church of North India. The hospice accepts people of all faiths.
Arunima concentrates on making life better for people living with HIV/AIDS. One main aspect of this is taking care of terminally ill people living with HIV/AIDS who are facing negligence from family and society by offering holistic care and support.
A great deal of their work is focused on fighting stigma and social discrimination attached to the HIV/AIDS and also empowering people living with HIV/AIDS and the affected family to take control of their lives.
In addition to working directly with the affected people Arunima also focus on networking with other organisations within the same field, influencing policy changes through lobbying and advocacy with legislative bodies and extensive documentation of various issues related to treatment, counselling and support of HIV/AIDS.
